Potsdam and Germany 2010 - 2012

Just a few pics of my place in Potsdam and a couple of small trips in Germany.

My Potsdam apartment was in a former Prussian military barracks from the 1870s - this is an overhead view before it all went condo The last few buildings were still under renovation - this is the gatehouse All the buildings were stripped-down to just the walls before reconstruction The barracks were just behind Potsdam's most famous landmark: Schloss Sansouci The whole park is a world-heritage site and there are some amazing views Another amazing Potsdam construction - my newly assembled Ikea wardrobe! OK, the doors still need to be installed All my Canadian furniture inside my German apartment My place in one of the very few snowy days I experienced The taggers have no respect for history, or anything really Picking-up my new company car in Bremen "Important Information" - my train is upside down? Hint - the track is up in the air And why is this mermaid riding a horse? No, this picture is not upside-down More track, suspended over the Wupper river in western Germany It's the famous Wuppertal Schwebebahn (suspension railway) in action - opened in 1901 and still operating The whole line is suspended over the main street and the river A small town in Germany... they all have a Berliner Strasse! Bückeburg - The only place in Germany I had ever visited, before living there
